A common “scam” strategy is popping up again. If you get what looks like an text from Pastor Zielinski, Rev. Streeper, (or really, anyone) that says we need a favor, a sensitive matter, asking to be discrete, or something like that, please disregard it and do not respond to it. Simply delete it. You’re welcome to telephone the church office directly or call us on the number in the directory or in the bulletin (don’t call the number the text came from, it’s false).We will never ask you to go get gift cards or make a payment or do anything of the sort. This patter will also show up pretending to be a utility company or a sheriff’s office. No legitimate business requests gift cards as immediate payment. This is a scam technique. Please be vigilant and do not panic. You should phone a trusted family member (at the number you have saved, not the number the text came from) and ask them what you should do.
